Kilimanjaro Update
Kilimanjaro remains absolutely stunning right now due to
the above average snow falls. That has also made the going
tougher - rains at lower altitudes have meant muddier paths
but in terms of views on the summit, well, it hasn't looked
like this in almost a decade! So, for those planning to climb,
pack the waterproofs - you can even buy an umbrella locally,
and once near the summit, enjoy rare snowy conditions!

Tarangire Access Limited
With numerous bridges washed away and water levels very high
indeed, Tarangire has become largely inaccessible. We will
continue to monitor the situation for all upcoming safaris.
Alternatives include West
Kilimanjaro (Which has remained accessible and offers
many similar animal species and even more activities such
as night game drives and walking with Maasai guides).

Rain, Rain, Rain: Boom to Bust in East Africa!
After an extended fews years of drought the heavens have
suddenly opened in style! East Africa is stunningly green
and in some instances, a little too wet! Those that have been
on safari in the last couple of years will remember the conspicuous
absence of the migration in the short grass plains of the
Serengeti until later in the year (February onwards) and yet
this year there has been rainfall levels unseen in almost
a decade. With the rain has come the lush vegetation and so
the migration has come streaming into the short grass plains
for the nutrient rich grasses that are so important to the
expectant female wildebeest and other migrating animals. A
time of plenty for predators too and we are receiving repeated
reports of superb game viewing.
But, be aware, the extra rain has meant some delays and instances
of getting stuck - be prepared for a little adventure!
