Nov 2005 - Wilderness Guide Training

For info on past training sessions please see:

Guides training

In Brief
This training session was very much a recap of all the syllabus covered in the May session and was mostly classroom based with significant time spent on scenarios. As per previous years the format was very intensive with session lasting around 5 to 6 hours a day. Some of the participants had improved significantly and this lead to the decision to make 3 spaces available for ADVANCED FIRST AID TRAINING in March - this is to take the level of key guides to an advanced stage over and above topics already covered - i.e. advanced airway management, IM injections and IV cannulation in wilderness situations. Please see the March 2006 report for more news on how that went!
